Conservation
Blooming Marvellous Here at Helens in the Park!
We’re proud to share that St Helens in the Park has once again taken part in the David Bellamy ‘Blooming Marvellous’ Pledge for Nature – a nationwide initiative encouraging holiday parks to protect and enhance their natural environments.
By continuing our pledge, we’ve shown our strong commitment to supporting Britain’s wildlife – and we’re thrilled to report that our efforts are getting noticed!
Karen, our dedicated conservation advisor, was full of praise during her recent visit. She was especially impressed with the expanded un-mown grass areas around our nature trail and woodland walk, which provide vital habitats for native wildlife.
We’re also proud to be working alongside our local school to host Forest School sessions, helping the next generation connect with nature right here in the park.
Pollinator Patch Success!
We’re delighted to announce that we have officially completed the Pollinator Patch challenge!
Our wildflower seed areas, thousands of newly planted bulbs, and insect-friendly formal beds all came together to create a haven for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Keep an eye out for the “We’ve completed the Pollinator Patch” logo proudly displayed onsite.
Home Sweet Home Challenge – In Progress
We’re making great progress with the Home Sweet Home challenge, which focuses on creating and enhancing natural habitats for local creatures. With Karen’s helpful advice and a bit of teamwork, we’re on track to complete this challenge too. You’ll now see our “We’ve started the Home Sweet Home” badge around the park!
What’s Next?
Looking ahead, we’ll be putting together a 3-year conservation plan to help us protect and enhance the amazing habitats we’ve already created. This plan will guide our future projects and ensure that St Helens in the Park remains a wildlife-friendly haven for years to come.
We’re incredibly proud of everything the team has achieved so far and are excited to keep building on this success as part of the Blooming Marvellous movement.
A huge thank you to everyone involved — and to Rufus Bellamy and Karen for their continued support and encouragement!
